Brief Proifle

Ms. Navpreet Kaur joined Department of Zoology, DAV University, Jalandhar on
07.09.2022 as an Assistant Professor. She was awarded M.Sc Zoology in 2014 from
Department of Zoology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana; M.Phil. Zoology in
2017 and Ph.D. Zoology in 2022 from Department of Zoology and Environmental
Sciences,Punjabi University, Patiala. She has also worked as an Assistant Professor
(Fisheries) in the Department of Agriculture, Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib from
(22 nd July, 2014 to 19 th May, 2015). She has published 6+ research papers in national and
international journals. She has also published popular newspaper articles to create
awareness in public about nutritional value of fish and fish processing waste and fish
waste utilization; impact of pollution on limnological parameters of water and nutritional
value of fish and from Ramsar sites of Punjab, India as well as delivered invited talks on
ornamental fish culture sponsored by National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad
to guide the farmers for maximum ornamental fish production. Her research interests
includes Aquatic pollution (Wetlands), Watter Quality Analysis, Fish Nutritional Quality,
Fish Proximate Composition, Fish Processing Waste Technology, Fish Biochemical
Parameters, Fish Fatty Acid Profile, Fish Waste Utilization, Environmental Pollution
Management.
