B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering is a 4 years full time graduate programme, divided into 8 semesters. The curriculum focuses on providing hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge in various domains, including design, manufacturing, automation, CAD/CAM, thermal, and automobile engineering.

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry /Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject. An applicant should have secured at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST) in the above subjects taken together.

Why this programme?

In the B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering programme, students build upon their foundational knowledge of science and mathematics acquired in school to delve into various disciplines of mechanical engineering. Through a diverse range of courses, students explore topics such as materials science, solid and fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, control systems, product design, and manufacturing processes.

Holistic Development: Our curriculum goes beyond technical subjects to provide students with a well-rounded education. Courses in communication, business, and other social sciences are integrated into the programme to cultivate well-rounded perspectives among students. We believe in nurturing engineers who not only excel in their technical skills but also possess strong communication abilities and a deep understanding of societal and ethical issues.

Practical Learning Opportunities: Practical learning is a cornerstone of our programme. Students engage in hands-on projects throughout their studies, allowing them to apply theoretical concepts to real-world engineering problems. Additionally, our programme offers opportunities for summer internships with national and international universities and industries. These internships provide invaluable practical experience and expose students to diverse engineering and scientific challenges, preparing them for future careers in the field.

Grooming Future Leaders: Our goal is to groom future leaders in the field of mechanical engineering. By providing a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and holistic development, we equip our students with the ability and flexibility to excel in a variety of settings. Whether it's in academia, industry, research, or entrepreneurship, our graduates are well-prepared to make meaningful contributions.
