Established in 2018, the Department of Education is committed to produce teachers that would empower and transform the society with their wisdom. The main focus of the Department is to prepare competent teachers by nurturing their innate potentials and, simultaneously, encouraging them to develop knowledge, skills and value-oriented mindset to serve the society. It is know that education plays a significant and remedial role in balancing the socio-economic fabric of a country: not only is Education a powerful agent of change, it also improves health, livelihood and contributes to social stability.
The Department offers two integrated programs, BSc BEd and BA BEd, which are approved by NCTE. A salient component of the programs is the emphasis on experiential learning which entails sending the pupil teachers to different schools so that they can be trained to be effective educators. The Department promotes the use of latest technology and inculcates application-based research in the pupil teachers. The curriculum of these programs provide a suitable blend of theory, practicals and internships.
