
Name of the Club
The name of this club is MechnoZ – The Mechanical Engineering Club set up by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in August 2015.

Objectives/Purpose of the Club
The purpose of MechnoZ – The Mechanical Engineering Club is
- To provide students opportunities to enhance personal skill sets and help to shape the community.
- To provide a platform to foster the leadership qualities through the coordination of various events.
- To create connect among students.
Membership
Membership in MechnoZ – The Mechanical Engineering Club shall be open to all undergraduate and postgraduate DAVU mechanical engineering students. As the MechnoZ– The Mechanical Engineering Club carries out its mission to prepare students to live and work in a pluralistic society; it is expected that all student will recognize the valuable learning experience which is offered through club participation.

Activities held Under the Club
1. PEDAL THE PLAINS (01st October 2015)

Objective:
1. To provide the eco-friendly environment.
2. To improve fitness and better health through cycling.



2. ONE DAY WORKHOP ON ADVANCES IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
(21st Nov 2015)
Objective:
1. To acknowledge the students with the various advancements in mechanical engineering.
Highlights:
Ø Around 120 Students and faculty members were attended the workshop. Eminent speakers Prof. Dr. A. Manna (H.O.D) Mechanical Engineering P.E.C, Chandigarh), Dr. P. Sudhakara (CSIR), Prof. Joseph Anand Vaz (NIT Jalandhar) shared their views on topics like advances in Materials and Machining, Bio-Composites, Biomechanical system.
Ø The speakers highlighted the importance of these topics as emerging opportunities on global grounds. The faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department & Dr. Naresh Sahajpal (Dean Academics) of DAV University also attended the workshop and appreciated the effort of club members for organising such a fruitful and educative workshop.
Ø The students got chance to interact with experts and clarify their doubts. During the closing ceremony of workshop, the club members thanked the speakers for sharing their experience and Dr. Naresh Sahajpal (Dean Academics) and the faculty members of mechanical engineering department for encouraging them to organise the event.




3. TRIBUTE TO HEROS OF INDIAN ARMY (2016 URI ATTACK)





4. Tech Mech 2.0 (09th Feb 2019)
Various events held in Tech Mech 2.0 were
1. Technical Treasure Hunt
2. Gaming Events (NFS & PUBG)
3. Sports Events (Volleyball & TUG of BAR)
In Technical Treasure Hunt 6 teams were participated. Technical’s clues were given to the teams. Team of students of 3rd year Mechanical Engineering was the winner of the event.
In Gaming events around 25 students participated. Upkar - 3rd year ME and Harshjeev – 3rd year ME were the winner and the runner up of PUB G. Anirudh – 2nd year ME student was the winner of NFS.
In Volleyball 4 Teams participated from all 4 years of B Tech – Mechanical. B Tech 4th Years students were the winner but they got a very good fight in the final match.
