DAV University celebtrated TEEJ with full enthusiasm

DAV University celebrated Teej Festival in Mahatama Hansraj auditorium with much fervour and gaiet. Fest started with DAV Gaan followed by lighting of lamp by the dignitaries.
In her welcome address, Vice Chancellor, Dr.Jasbir Rishi congratulated everyone on the festival of Teej and extended her best wishes to all. She further said that no society without having its roots entrenched in its culture can survive for long. She congratulated the faculty and students, for making the celebrations a grand event by presenting colourful folk dance gidha and songs.She inspired the students to preserve their rich culture and heritage.
Many competitions were the part of the fest as Mehndi, Folk Dance and selection of Ms. Teej. Students presented various dance forms such as Naati, Gujrati Dance, Rajasthani ,Laavni, Bhangra and Gidha. On the occasion, students showcased their art by presenting folk songs, dialects, dance, gidha, bhangra and modelling. To show a glimpse of a Punjabi village, phulkaris, chhaj, chatis, madhanis were decorated in the programme.
Jasdeep Kaur was graced with the title of Miss Teej.Kritika and Ramandeep Kaur were declared Ist and 2nd Runner Up respectively.

 

In folk dance competitions Bhangra Incrementers got first prize, Dance Divine got second and Black Fire got third position. In inter department Heritage Exhibition Diksha got the first prize, Anchal got the second prize and Prabh Kaur and Robinpreet Singh got the third prize. Winner Students were given prizes by Vice Chancellor Dr. Jasbir Rishi, and Dean Academics Dr. R. K. Seth.
