Strength of Materials Laboratory

The objective of the strength of materials laboratory is to demonstrate the basic principles in the area of strength and mechanics of materials and structural analysis to the undergraduate students through a series of experiments.  In this laboratory the experiments are performed to measure the properties of the materials such as impact strength, tensile strength, compressive strength, bending, hardness, ductility etc.

Major Equipments Strength of Materials Laboratory: Universal testing machine, Torsion testing machine, Impact testing machine, Brinell hardness testing machine, Rockwell hardness testing machine, Spring testing etc.  

Fluid Mechanics Laboratory

This laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the fundamentals of fluid mechanics like fluid statics, kinematics and dynamics. This laboratory provides practical knowledge how to find the minor losses and major losses in pipes , sum of energy, rate of flow in open and closed duct, velocity in pipes etc.

 Major Equipment in Fluid Mechanics Laboratory are:- Bernoulli’s apparatus, Reynolds apparatus, Impact of jet apparatus, orifice apparatus, orificemeter and venturimeter apparatus, Notch apparatus, losses in pipes apparatus, forced vortices apparatus.

Computer Aided Design Laboratory

CAD (Computer Aided Design) provides a convenient mean to create designs for almost every engineering discipline. It can be used for architectural design, landscape design, interior design, civil and surveying, mechanical design, electrical engineering, plant design, industrial design, duct design, electronic circuit design, plumbing design, textile design and product design.

Engineering Materials and Metallurgy Laboratory

This laboratory is a part of curriculum of mechanical 2nd year students with facilities for the group of 30 students to carry out experiments independently. The laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the basics structure of materials.

Major Equipment in Engineering Material & Metallurgy Laboratory: Top Loaded Digital Muffle Furnace, Jominy & Quench Apparatus, Double Disc Polishing Machine, Lathe Tool Dynamometer (Strain Gauge Type), Surface Roughness Tester, Abrasion Cut Machine.

Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory

The laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the basic construction of two stroke and four stroke diesel and petrol engine. The laboratory also contains basic parts of an engine like carburetor, Fuel injection system, engine cooling system. This laboratory is for mechanical 3rd year students with facilities for the group of 30 students to carry out experiments independently.

Major Equipment in Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory are: Computerized Variable Compression Ratio Single Cylinder Four Stroke Diesel Engine Test Rig with Electrical Brake Dynamometer, Single cylinder 2-Stroke Petrol Engine Test Rig, 4-Stoke 4-Cylinder Diesel Engine Test Rig, 4-Stoke 4-Cylinder Petrol Engine Test Rig, Multicylinder Petrol Engine Test Rig with LPG, Cut Section 4-Stroke 4-Cylinder Petrol Engine Fitted with Reduction Gear Box and Motor, Cut Section 4-Stroke 4-Cylinder Diesel Engine Fitted with Reduction Gear Box and Motor.

Dynamics of Machine Laboratory

The laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the balancing of machine parts statically and dynamically, and is also used to understand the dynamic behavior of moving objects.

Major Equipment in Dynamics of Machines Laboratory are: Universal Governor Apparatus, Gyroscope Apparatus, Balancing Apparatus (Static & Dynamic), Cam Analysis Apparatus, Epicycle Gear Train Apparatus, Whirling of Shaft Apparatus.

Manufacturing Technology Laboratory

This laboratory is for mechanical 3rd year students with facilities for the group of students to carry out experiments independently. The laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the basics of concept of manufacturing machine and manufacturing technology.

Major Equipment in Manufacturing Technology Laboratory are: Milling machine, drilling machine and lathe machine etc.

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Laboratory

The laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the basics of refrigeration and air conditioning. This laboratory is a part of mechanical 3rd year students with advance apparatus to carry out experiments independently.

Major Equipments in Heat Transfer Laboratory are: Refrigeration Test Rig, Window Air Conditioning Test Rig, Electrolux Vapour Absorption Test Rig, Water and Water Heat Pump

Automobile Engineering Laboratory

This laboratory is common for mechanical and automobile engineering students with facilities for the group of 30 students to carry out experiments independently. The laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the fundamentals of Automotive Engineering which includes basic structure, body style, power plant and wheel & tyre assembly.

Major Equipment in Automobile Engineering Laboratory are: Cut Section Automobile Chassis with Parts, Demo. Board of MPFI System, All Types of Steering, Break & Clutch Assembly, and All Types of Actual Cut section Models of Auto etc.

Fluid Machines Laboratory

This laboratory is for mechanical 3rd Year students to conduct the test on  the fluid machinery to study the performance characteristics like input power, output power, efficiency, head and discharge. 

Major Equipment in Fluid Machines Laboratory are: Francis turbine test rig, Pelton turbine test rig, Centrifugal pump test rig (Variable speed), Centrifugal pump series and parallel test rig, Hydraulic ram test rig.

Heat & Mass Transfer Laboratory

 The laboratory is well-equipped with calibrated equipments and enables students to understand the basics of modes heat transfer i.e. conduction, convection and radiation. This laboratory has enough apparatus to impart practical knowledge to undergraduate students on how to determine the thermal conductivity of materials (solid, liquid and powder), natural and forced convection (with pin and without pin) etc.

Major Equipments in Heat Transfer Laboratory are:- Thermal conductivity of metallic rod apparatus, Thermal conductivity of insulating powder apparatus, Guarded hot plate method, Pin-Fin Apparatus, Vertical tube loosing heat under natural convection, Emissivity measurement apparatus,  Stefan Boltzmann apparatus, Parallel and counter flow heat exchanger etc.

Mechanical Measurement Laboratory

This is the laboratory which is very important for basic knowledge of various instruments with facilities for the group of students to carry out experiments independently. The laboratory is well equipped and enables students to understand the fundamentals of various measuring instruments.

Major Equipment in Mechanical Measurement Laboratory are:  Profile Projector, Surface Roughness Tester, Tool Maker Microscope with Digimatic Head, Surface Plate, Digital Height Gauge (20 " / 500 mm), Vernier, Micrometer, Slip Gauges etc.

Thermodynamic Laboratory

The laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the fundamentals of formation of steam to generate the power which includes cooling tower, condenser and compressors. This laboratory is for mechanical 2nd Year students with facilities for the group of students to carry out experiments independently

Major Equipment in Steam and Power Generation Laboratory are: Cut section model of Low pressure and high pressure boilers (Babcock and Wilcox, Lancashire and Locomotive boiler models), Mounting and accessories for boilers, cooling tower, Throttling calorimeter, Bomb Calorimeter and model of condensers.

The laboratory is well-equipped and enables students to understand the fundamentals of pneumatics, electro pneumatics and hydraulic system. This laboratory has advanced trainer kits which provide enough practical knowledge to the students how to assemble the automation pneumatics and electro pneumatics circuits on the board.

   Major Equipment in Robotics & Automation Laboratory are: Basic and Advanced Pneumatic Trainer Kit & Add On Module, Basic PLC Add on Module & Electro Pneumatic Package, Advanced Electro Pneumatic Add On Module Package Silent Compressor, VEX Classroom and Comp. Super Kit (276-3000)

Central Workshop

Central Workshop Comprising Machine Shop, Carpentry Shop, Fitting Shop, Foundry Shop, Welding Shop, Smithy Shop and Sheet Metal Shop . Welding Shop comprises of Electric Arc Welding Machine, Metal Inert Gas Welding Machine, Tungsten Gas Welding Machine, Spot welding machine, Gas Welding etc.
